As you know the podcast has been paused since 2020. I've published maybe 1 or 2 episodes in the past 5 years.

I just haven't had the time. I've been offline living my life, with my wife, on our family farm...

I've been doing a ton of things that I can talk about on future episodes (businesses, consulting, lots of projects, tons of hobbies, a ton of reading and thinking, running, farming, 8 months without a smart phone, and much more...)

But, every year during the Spotify wrapped I'm reminded that we had something special with the StartHereFM podcast / YouTube (see images).

I may never be able to capture the lightning in a bottle like we did with the Web Dev content, and if not ... that's perfectly ok.

Regardless, I've decided enough is enough. It's time to come back.

Some small changes though...

StartHereFM has always been a "topic" brand, and the topic has been "Software Development".

All we're doing is updating it to be a "format" brand.

What that means is the name for the podcast will be just StartHereFM (along with the YouTube), and will remove all references to Software / Web Dev...

That doesn't mean I won't ever talk about those topics, but it gives me the freedom to talk about anything I want and stay true to the format, and iterate topics...

Note that programming is still my #1 hobby, even as I work on a farm - so that topic is never going away.

Anyway, this builds a stronger foundation for us to grow the future of the podcast, YouTube, and more...
